Adding 0

Adding zero, is so easy now.
When I add it, nothing changes.
Oh watch me now!
Two plus zero’s two,
And three plus zero’s three.
I can add these numbers now.
Won’t you try with me!

Adding 1

{Sing to the tune of “Twinkle Twinkle Little Star”}
Start with a number and add one.
To find the answer’s really fun.
Just see what number’s next in line,
This is the answer every time.
So three plus one equals four.
Now you can go solve some more.

Counting On

{Sing to the tune of “I’m a Little Teapot”}
When you add a number,
With one, two, three.
Start with the biggest,
and count up with me.
If I have the problem,
Seven plus three.
I start at seven,
Up one, two, three.

Ten Facts

{Sing to the tune of “I’ve Been Working on the Railroad”}
I’ve been adding to make ten.
And I know every way.
Every number has a partner,
Let’s say them today.
Zero, ten and one, nine,
I’ll add two and eight.
Three, seven, six and four.
Five and five are great!

Double Facts

{Sing to the tune of “The Farmer in the Dell”}
1 + 1 is two, 2 + 2 is four
We know our doubles facts,
Let’s do some more.
3 + 3 is six, 4 + 4 is eight
We know our doubles facts,
We are really great!
5 + 5 is ten, 6 + 6 is twelve
We know our doubles facts,
We do them all ourselves.
7 + 7 is fourteen, 8 + 8 is sixteen
We know our doubles facts,
We’re the best you’ve ever seen.
9 + 9 is eighteen, 10 + 10 is twenty
We know our doubles facts
And we know plenty!

Double Neighbors

{Sing to the tune of “Row, Row, Row Your Boat”}
If you know your doubles facts,
I have news for you.
You can learn so much more
Here is what you do.
If you know eight plus eight,
Always makes sixteen.
Then eight plus nine is one more
And equals seventeen.

Adding 10

{Sing to the tune of “Head Shoulders Knees and Toes”}
When you add 10 to a number, to a number,
First, take away the zero,
yes the zero.
Write the number instead of the zero.
And, you will be an adding hero, adding hero!

Adding 9

{Sing to the tune of “Ring Around the Rosie”}
When I need to add a nine,
First, I add a ten just fine.
Then I count back,
One number now.
This will be my answer.
